Juan Francisco Wins 2013 NL Batting Crown
Thursday, October 3rd, 2013: Juan Francisco of the Cincinnati Reds was this year's best hitter in the National League. The 26-year-old left fielder collected the batting title with a .330 average. Playing in 157 games, the NL champ racked up 207 hits in 627 at-bats with 50 home runs and 143 RBIs.
Hosmer Crowned AL Bat King
Thursday, October 3rd, 2013: The end of the baseball season brings with it a bevy of awards. The latest went to Eric Hosmer, the 2013 American League batting champion. For the year, the Indians first baseman posted a .344 batting average. His 211 base hits included 42 doubles, 4 triples, and 35 home runs. Additionally, Hosmer scored 117 times and knocked in 127 runs.
